The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost
Once again in his writings Dr. McGee points out the words written in scripture: And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up
straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove,
and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Matthew
3:16-17. How much more proof do those who are now walking in this marvelous light to see the Godhead in what we call the
Trinity.
Just as a newly member of the family of God, a born again believer one of the first actions on the part of a new believer is to be
baptized. Jesus himself instructed his apostles on the manner by which a believer was to be baptized as we read in these
scriptures.
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw him,
they worshipped him: but some doubted. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven
and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end
of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:16-19
The apostle Paul in the book of 2 Corinthians closed the chapter in verse 14 with these words that communicate the existence of
trinity: The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
Any student of the bible will clearly see the picture if not the very being of the Trinity in bible verses such as the following:
Jesus speaking (one person in the Godhead) in the book of John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you
another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
You read clearly His reference to the Father and the Comforter (the Holy Ghost)
Paul the apostle shares in Romans 1:7 these word denoting the Godhead the Trinity: To all that be in Rome, beloved of God,
called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
In the book to the Hebrews 1:8 it is written: But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of
righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
